General Information Regarding UPPGMET-2016

  • UPPGMET-2016 will be organised for admission in MD, MS, Post Graduate Diploma Courses for Academic Session 2016-17 in unaided minority as well as non minority member medical colleges of Uttar Pradesh.
  • The entrance examination will be held on 16th January, 2016, Saturday and 23rd January, 2016.
  • There will be a total no. of 250 objective type multiple choice questions as per the guideline of syllabus given in the appendix of this brochure.
  • The UPPGMET-2016 will consists of a maximum of 250 marks.
  • Minimum cut-off pass percentage of marks in UPPGMET-2016 shall be 50% and merit shall be determined on the basis of marks secured in UPPGMET-2016.
  • There will be negative marks of 1, 4 for each wrong answer.
  • More than one answer marked in OMR answer sheet will also be considered as wrong answer.
  • Only Black Ball Point Pen shall be used for answering on OMR answer sheet as per direction even in the OMR Sheet.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

The candidate must have completed M.B.B.S. course from an institute duly recognized by Medical Council of India.

The Internship of the candidate must be completed before April 01, 2016.

The candidate must have his, her registration with State Medical Council, Medical Council of India.

For NRI, Foreign candidates, the above mentioned criteria must be approved by the Medical 5 Council of India.

SYLLABUS

  • The syllabus will be the same as prescribed for the MBBS courses as per Regulation on Post Graduate Medical Education, 2000 framed under IMC Act 1956.
  • No books are prescribed.
  • The questions will generally be of MBBS level.

How to Apply:

Application Form (Online Submission): Session 2016-17

  • This brochure can be downloaded from the website
  • Application forms can be obtained & submitted in the following three modes:
    1. From the Cash Counters of the participating colleges (as listed on page 6 of this brochure) on Cash Payment of Rs. 3500/-. Such applications are to be completely filled & sent through Speed Post to the “Coordinator UPPGMET 2016, First Floor, Anand Ashram Complex, Rampur Garden, Bareilly – 243 001”.
    2. Downloaded from the website and after printing the same on A-4 sheet, such applications are to be completely filled and sent along with the Demand Draft of Rs. 3500/- in favor of “UPUMCWA” payable at “Bareilly (U.P.)” to the “Coordinator – UPPGMET 2016, First Floor, Anand Ashram Complex, RampurGarden, Bareilly – 243 001”.
    3. Completely filled Online through the link provided on the website (along with uploading of the signature, recent color passport size photograph, and Left hand thumb impression). A Demand Draft of Rs. 3500/- in favor of “UPUMCWA” payable at “Bareilly (U.P.)” is to be attached with the Confirmation Page after completely filling the form online. The No. of the Demand Draft must be filled at the designated place while filling the form online. Thereafter, the Confirmation Page can be generated and the print of the same is to be sent through Speed Post to the “Coordinator – UPPGMET 2016, First Floor, Anand Ashram Complex, Rampur Garden, Bareilly – 243 001”.

[i] In case the either of the Recent Colored Passport Size Photograph, Left Hand Thumb Impression, or Signatures are not duly uploaded, please put the same on the

Confirmation Page before sending the same.

  • Please attach the Xerox copies of the documents (as mentioned on page 5 of this brochure) with the filled in application form.
  • UPUMCWA will not be responsible for any delay in receiving of completed application form along with all enclosures either on the part of post office or for any other reason.
  • The application form after scrutiny shall be processed and applicant will be provided the facility to download his, her admit card along with roll no. from the website: The admit card will allow one to appear in the entrance test.
  • Appropriate information regarding centres shall be mentioned on the admit card. If any document, declaration submitted by the candidate is found to be false at any stage his, her candidature will be cancelled and he, she may be liable for prosecutions under law. In case of any legal dispute the jurisdiction will be limited to Bareilly Courts only.
  • The candidates are also instructed to note the Application Form No. and to keep photocopy of submitted application form along with proof of having submitted the application form for any future reference.
  • Incomplete Application Forms will be rejected.

Admit Card

  • Admit Cards will be available for download from the website on 11th January 2015.
  • If a candidate is unable to download his, her registration slip due to any technical problem, he, she may contact on phone number +91-9897600270 or Coordinator’s Mobile No. +91-9412761020 for necessary assistance.
  • The candidates who don’t have downloaded Admit Card will be entertained at the examination center between 9:00 AM to 12:00Noon on the day of examination i.e. 16th January, 2016 (Saturday) and 23rd January, 2016 (Saturday). They should contact the centre observer UPPGMET- 2016 at the centre with following:-
  1. Two passport size photographs, similar to that pasted on application form i.e. from the same negative.
  2. 100/- as fee for duplicate admit card.
  3. Photocopy of Application Form along with Application Form No.
  4. Proof of sending the application form through Speed Post.
  5. Proof of identity such as Passport, Voter ID Card, Pan Card, DL, High School Certificate etc. which must consist the photograph of candidate

VIT Engineering Entrance Exam, VITEEE 2016


VIT University (VIT), Vellore has announced the exam dates for VIT Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE 2016), which will be conducted in April 2016. The VITEEE computer based test will be held from Wednesday, April 06, 2016 to Sunday, April 17, 2016.

VITEEE is conducted for taking admission to Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) program for the academic year 2016.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1994 are eligible to apply for VITEEE-2016.
  • Candidates appearing for the VITEEE in 2016 should have secured an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, Biology in the qualifying examination (+2, intermediate).
  • The average marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM, PCB) in +2 (or its equivalent) put together should be 50% for the SC, ST & North Eastern State.
  • Candidates who have studied in regular, full time and formal education are alone eligible to apply.

How to Apply:

Application Procedure for VITEEE 2016:

  • Online Application Forms: Candidates can apply online with softcopy (scanned copy) of recently taken passport size colour photograph with 50kb – 100kb (dimensions – 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm) , Softcopy (scanned copy) of signature of the candidate with 20kb – 50kb (dimensions – 3.5 cm x 1.5 cm ) in JPG , JPEG format.
  • Mode of Payment – Internet banking facility through net banking, debit card, credit card, and demand draft mode.
  • Offline Application Forms: Applications will be available in selected Head Post Offices.

Paper Pattern for VITEEE 2016:

  • VITEEE 2016 syllabus consists of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and English.
  • PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) – 120 questions (each 40 questions) & English 5 questions-total 125 questions
  • PCB (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) – 120 questions (each 40 questions) & English 5 questions-total 125 questions
  • No negative marks for wrong answers.
  • The duration of the VITEEE entrance exam will be 2 hours 30 minutes.

KLEU PGAIET 2016 commonly known as Karnataka Lingayat Education University Post-Graduation All India Entrance Test. The PGAIET exam is conducted for admission to the Post-Graduate Medical & Dental Programmes. Candidates are selected to Post-Graduate Medical & Dental Programmes on the basis of result obtained in the entrance exam. Students who qualifies in the entrance exam is selected for PG courses in the KLE University & other constituent colleges.   • The scope of the syllabi for the Postgraduate Medical, Dental entrance test is based on the M.B.B.S, B.D.S. syllabus as prescribed by MCI, DCI, respectively.
  • There will be separate question booklet for Medical and Dental Courses.
  • The test will have 180 multiple-choice, objective type questions.
  • The time allotted for the test would be 180 minutes. The test will begin at 2:00 pm and end at 5:00 pm.
  • Candidates are required to mark their answers in an ICR (Intelligent Character Reader) Answer Sheet.
  • Each correct answer is awarded one mark.
  • There is no Negative Marking for wrong answers.

Since NIFT 2016 is an entrance exam for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate programs NIFT colleges offer, you must ensure that you are eligible to study these programs before registering for NIFT 2016 exam. The eligibility criteria for various NIFT programs are listed:

Bachelors Programs

Students applying for the Bachelors programs offered at NIFT must not be more than 23 years old as of 1st of October, 2015. This eligibility criterion is relaxed for 5 years for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribe, and Differently Abled Person (PHP). Students applying to the bachelors courses must have any one of the following qualifications:

B.Des.

  • The +2 level examinations in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central, State Board of Secondary Examination, such as CBSE, State Board New Delhi, and CISCE, New Delhi.
  • General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London, Cambridge, Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level, International Baccalaureate (IB).
  • Any Public School, Board, University Examination in India or in Foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.
  • A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.
  • 3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.

B.F.Tech.

  • The +2 level examinations in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central, State Board of Secondary Examination, such as CBSE , State Board New Delhi, and CISCE, New Delhi with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Applications to the programs offered at NIFT will be done via online for the academic year 2016. The prospectus is available free of cost on the NIFT’s official website

Exam Pattern & Syllabus

Entrance exams to all courses offered at NIFT will be taken in two phases. Phase One (PBT I) of the examinations will comprise of the first round of paper based tests. Phase Two of the examinations will comprise of the second round of tests which could either be paper based (PBT II) or computer based (CBT), depending upon the particular course. Negative marks of 0.25 are deducted for every wrong answer.

For admission to the Bachelors of Design, the total score of every applicant will be a composite of:

CAT

The Creative Ability Test (CAT) assesses an applicants’ intuition skill, observation ability, innovative and design ability. Use of color and illustrative abilities are also important here.

Situation Test

On the basis of their performace in CAT and GAT, B.Des applicants are called for another test called the Situation Test. Situation tests are meant to examine applicants’ skills for material handling and innovative ability on a given situation with a given set of materials. Assessment will done on the basis of space visualization, innovative and creative use of given material, composition of elements, color scheme, construction skill, finesse of the model and overall presentation etc. The write-up describing the course carries 30 per cent weightage and can only be in English.

Group Discussions

Applicants selected for Masters Programs from the written entrance examination will participate in Case Study based Group Discussions (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). The duration of GD session is usually 15 to 20 minutes. Applicants will be examined on the following criteria:

  • Contribution made to the topic
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Ability to generate new ideas

The Uttar Pradesh Combined Medical Entrance Test (UPCMET) is conducted by the U.P. Unaided Medical Colleges Welfare Association (UPUMCWA) for admission to MBBS courses offered by its member colleges. The UPUMCWA is a consortium of unaided non minority medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh.

UPCMET 2016 will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on 11 May 2016. Test centres will be available in 17 cities. The exam tests for admission to MBBS programs in member colleges for the academic session 2016. UPUMCWA holds the test.

MBBS

An MBBS is a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree. It is the basic and most popular [undergraduate] medical degree pursued in India because it allows one to go on to get a Masters degree in a large variety of specializations (i.e. General Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Radio-diagnosis, Radiotherapy, Obstetrics and Gynecology, etc), and is therefore extremely competitive. The length of the program is on average 5 and a half years, of which the first 3 semesters, lasting 18 months each, are spent on classes, while the last year is dedicated to the compulsory rotating internship. The cost for an MBBS varies depending on the institute, and ranges from Rs 332 per year for a local student to Rs 970 per year for an outstation student (from All India Institute of Medical Sciences AIIMS), to Rs 10,000-12,000 per year (for JIPMER), up to even 2-3 lakhs (not including housing and cost of food) per year (for a private college).

UPCMET 2016 Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates should be citizens of India and at least 17 years of age as of 31 December 2016.
  • Applicants should have passed the Uttar Pradesh Board’s 10+2 exam, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), ISC or equivalent from a recognized university or board. Candidates must have English as a subject, with at least 50 percent in Physics, Chemistry and Biology together (40 percent for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes candidates).
  • If you are appearing for the 10+2 exam in 2015, you are also eligible provided that you pass the exam with the appropriate marks.

UPCMET 2016 Exam Pattern

The detailed exam pattern for UPCMET 2016 (conducted for admission to MBBS programs in medical colleges which are members of the UPUMCWA):

The exam has two papers with five total subjects. Paper I has a total of 100 marks and Paper II has 50 marks. Combined maximum marks for the test are 200 (not 250) since Paper II is just a qualifying paper and won’t be considered for merit.

For each wrong answer, one quarter of a mark (1, 4) will be deducted.

The cut-off marks for Paper I are 50 percent (for SC, ST, OBC candidates 40 percent) and for Paper II are also 50 percent (40 percent for SC, ST, OBC candidates). Merit is determined from Paper I marks.

UPCMET 2016 Exam Syllabus

UPCMET 2016 Physical and Biological Sciences Syllabus

Paper I consists of two sections, Physical Sciences and Biological Sciences. Section A includes Physics and Chemistry, and Section B includes Zoology and Botany. The Physics section includes basic concepts such as mechanics, measurement and kinematics and wave motion and sound. You will need to be aware of relevant laws and formulas. Other topics that are included in this section of the test are heat (thermal conduction, first law of thermodynamics, thermometry), light (chromatic aberration, refraction at spherical surfaces, wave nature of light), electricity, electromagnetism and general properties of matter (kinetic theory, kinetic models for liquids and solids). More advanced topics in this section are nuclear physics, radiation and atomic physics and electron physics. The Chemistry section covers basic chemistry concepts, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry and physical chemistry.

Section B’s first section is Zoology, which covers general topics such as evolution, organic evolution, animal physiology and classification. Topics in the Type and Specific Study section include arthropods, protozoa, porifera and annelida. Other topics you should be familiar with for the Botany section are the cell, ecology, cell differentiation, the study of life from angiospermic plant to seed formation and photosynthesis.

UPCMET 2016 English Syllabus

Paper II, General English, is a qualifying paper. For this part of the test, you should be familiar with the basics of correct English such as spelling, grammar, prepositions, simple tenses and conjunctions. Mail a demand draft of Rs. 1,050 in favor of UPUMCWA payable at Bareilly with two self-addressed stickers to “The Coordinator UPCMET – 2016, First Floor, Anand Ashram Complex, Rampur Garden, Bareilly 234 001.” Participating member colleges have the information brochure and application form available upon Rs. 1,000 cash payment.
  • You can also download the form from website and send the completed application along with a demand draft of 1000.
  • The application form should be filled in with capital letters using a black ballpoint pen. The form allows you to pick an exam centre that cannot be changed later. Include a copy of your 10+2 mark sheet, your 10th standard certificate, any other applicable certificates and four copies of a recent passport-sized photograph.

All India Management Association (AIMA), New Delhi and Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh jointly has announced the exam dates for Research Management Aptitude Test (RMAT-2015), which will be conducted in December 2015. The RMAT will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2015.

RMAT is conducted for taking admission to Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Business Administration program for the session 2015.

Eligibility Criteria for RMAT 2015:

Candidates should have:

  • Master’s degree in Management or allied subjects from Commerce, Humanities, Science, Engineering and Law etc. or a PGDM/PGDITM approved by AICTE with not less than 55% marks or equivalent grade OR Chartered Accountancy, Cost Accountancy or any other professional qualification which are considered equivalent to master degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade. In addition, the candidate should have a minimum of 50% marks in graduation. And
  • Minimum 5 years post qualification work experience in industry at the managerial level or a minimum 5 years of teaching experience as full time Faculty in a Management Institute approved by AICTE or affiliated to a university.

  • Candidates can apply online.

  • Each question has four options marked (1), (2), (3) and (4).
  • All questions carry equal mark. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.
