Applications are invited for Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE) 2016. Uttar Pradesh Technical University, UPTU, Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination, UPSEE for admission to 1st year B.Tech, B.Pharm, B.Arch, BHMCT, BFAD, MBA, MCA, MAM and 2nd year of B.Tech, B.Pharm, MCA (Lateral Entry) programmes for the academic year 2016-17.

Courses Offered

The Entrance Exam for admission to first year of the following courses offered at the Institutions affiliated to AKTU, Lucknow including other mentioned universities situated in territory of Uttar Pradesh for the academic year 2016-17 shall be conducted by Dr A.P.J. Admission to First Year: (i) 4 years B.Tech, B.Tech (Ag Engg) Course, (ii) 4 years B.Pharm Course, (iii) 5 years B.Arch Course, (iv) 4 years BHMCT Course, (v) 4 years BFAD Course, (vi) 4 years BFA Course, (vii) 3 years MCA Course, (viii) 2 years MBA Course, (ix) 5 years integrated MAM Course

Direct Admission (Lateral Entry) to Second year of B.Tech, B.Pharm, MCA: The eligible candidates seeking direct admission to second year of B.Tech, B.Pharm, or MCA degree holders in institutions affiliated to AKTU, Lucknow

Eligibility Criteria for UPSEE-2016

The subject combination required in the qualifying examination (intermediate exam of U.P. Board or 10+2 level exam or its equivalent) for admission to first year of different courses shall be as follows:

First Year of B.Tech, B.Pharm: Candidate must have clearly passed intermediate exam of U.P. Board or 10+2 level exam or its equivalent from any recognized Board, University without grace in required each compulsory subjects; and securing minimum 45% marks (40% marks for SC,ST Category candidates) in aggregate in required three subjects

First Year of BHMCT, BFAD, BFA: Candidate must have clearly passed intermediate exam of U.P Board or 10+2 level exam or its equivalent from any recognized Board,University and securing minimum 45% marks without grace (40% marks for SC,ST category candidates) in aggregate

iii. For Year of B.Arch: A candidate must have clearly passed intermediate exam of U.P. Board or 10+2 level exam or its equivalent from any recognized Board, University and securing (i) minimum 50% marks in aggregate and (ii) clearly passed without grace, each compulsory

Candidate possessing three years Diploma in Architecture (10+3) recognized by Central, State Govt., is also eligible for admission to first year of B.Arch only, provided the candidate has passed the Diploma Exam securing minimum 50% marks in aggregate without grace

All candidates who are eligible for admission in B.Tech Courses are also eligible for B.Tech Agriculture Engineering) and B.Tech (Biotechnology)

First Year MBA: Candidate must have passed bachelor’s degree of minimum 03 years duration from any recognized university of India, passing clearly without grace marks with an aggregate of minimum 50% marks for General  & OBC and 45% for SC, ST category

First Year MCA: Candidate must have passed bachelor’s degree course of minimum three years duration from any recognized university with Mathematics as a subject at 10+2 level or graduate level; the candidate must have clearly passed without grace marks with an aggregate of minimum 50% marks for General & OBC and 45% for SC,ST category

First Year MAM (Dual degree): Candidate must have passed Intermediate (10+2) exam of Uttar Pradesh Board or its equivalent from any recognized Board, University and securing minimum 45% marks without grace (40% for SC,ST category) in aggregate

Second B.Tech (Lateral Entry): Candidate must have passed three years Diploma in Engineering course, securing minimum 45% marks for General & OBC and (40% marks for SC, ST category) in aggregate or three years B.Sc degree plus having passed 10+2 exam with Mathematics as one subject, securing minimum aggregate marks of 45% for General & OBC and 40% for SC, ST category in B.Sc

Second Year B.Pharm (Lateral Entry): Candidate must have passed Diploma in Pharmacy, securing minimum aggregate marks of 45% for General & OBC and 40% for SC, ST category)

Second Year MCA (Lateral Entry): Candidate must have passed BCA, B.Sc (IT,CS) of minimum three years from any recognized Indian University or its Equivalent recognized by AIU, with minimum 50% (45% for SC,ST) marks in aggregate plus having mathematics as a subject at 10+2 level or Graduation level

Note:
Number of admissions in all courses offered at Institutions affiliated to AKTU, Lucknow, will be only through UPSEE-2016

  1. a) State Govt. has permitted 15% of total sanctioned seats available in Private Institutions to be filled by the NRI candidates under Managemenet quota
    b) State Govt. has permitted 10% of the total sanctioned seats available in Technology, Architecture courses in private institutions affiliated to AKTU to be filled through combined merit of UP Domicile and Non UP Domicile candidates without reservation subject to eligibility
  2. c) Thus, 10% of the total sanctioned seats in Technology, Architecture courses in Private Institutions, affiliated to AKTU, shall also be opened to the candidates; these seats shall be filled on the basis of UPSEE-2016 Merit
    d) State Govt. has also permitted 20% of the total sanctioned seats of MBA in Private Institutions to be filled on the basis of latest CMAT-2016 merit
    e) Thus, 65% seats available in MBA & 85% seats in the first year of remaining courses at all Private Institutions will be filled by the UPSEE-2016 qualified

Admit Card

Admit card will be available online on the website to every candidate. The candidates are advised to check the details of admit cards with regards to their category, sub-category, gender, rural weightage, Name, Father’s Name etc. as mentioned on the Admit Card

No candidate will be allowed to appear in the exam without admit card
If any candidate is unable to download his, her admit card, he, she should contact the helpline as indicated on the website or send an email to the mail address latest by 14th April 2016

M.Sc in Life Sciences: An integrated interdisciplinary programme in Modern Biology

Eligibility: Bachelor’s (B.Sc or B.Tech or equivalent) in Biological, Physical or Agricultural Sciences under the 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 55% marks.

School of Environmental Sciences

M.Phil, Ph.D in Environmental Sciences including Interdisciplinary Areas of Biology (Ecology, Biotechnology, Biophysics, Bioremediation), Chemistry (Air, Water, Soil Pollution), Geology and Physics.

Eligibility: M.Sc degree or equivalent in any branch of basic or applied science or applied science or MBBS or B.Tech, B.E. with minimum 55% marks.

M.Sc in Environmental Sciences: An Interdisciplinary Course with Environmental Orientation, drawn from relevant areas of Biological, Chemical, Earth and Physical Sciences.

Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree in any branch of basic or applied science under 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 55% marks.

School of Computer and Systems Sciences

The school offers academic programmes leading to the degrees in Computer Science and Technology.

M.Phil, Ph.D and M.Tech, Ph.D

Eligibility: Master’s degree in Computer Science or Mathematics or Statistics or Operational Research or in any branch of Science or Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Engineering or Master of Computer Applications (MCA) with at least 55% marks.

MCA (Master of Computer Applications): 3 year programme open to candidates with adequate competence in mathematics.

Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with adequate competence in Mathematics under 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 55% marks.

School of Physical Sciences

Pre-Ph.D, Ph.D in Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences

Eligibility

Physical Sciences: M.Sc degree in Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics, with at least 55% marks

Candidates having majored in Physics or Chemistry should have had Mathematics at least up to the B.Sc level.

Exceptions can be made in case of applicants with B.Tech (Electronics, Electrical) degrees provided they successfully qualify the entrance examination.

Chemical Sciences, M.Sc degree in Chemistry or Physics, with at least 55% marks

Candidates majoring in Chemistry should have specialization in Analytical, Organic, Inorganic, Physical Chemistry, Chemical Physics, Polymer Chemistry at the Master’s level

Mathematical Sciences: M.Sc degree in Mathematics, with at least 55% marks

M.Sc. in Physics

Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree (with Physics as one of the subjects) under the 10+2+3 pattern of education with 55% marks in the aggregate (or in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics combined), or in Physics Honours

School of Arts and Aesthetics

M.Phil, Ph.D: The school offers M.Phil, Ph.D programme in three different streams – Visual Studies, Theatre and Performance Studies and Cinema Studies

Admission to the M.Phil, Ph.D is through a separate entrance examination for each discipline followed by a viva-voce

Eligibility: Master’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks

M.A. in Arts and Aesthetics: The school offers M.A. programme with cross disciplinary study of the Visual, Cinematic and Performing Arts

The university admits a limited number of candidates to M.Phil, Ph.D and Pre-Ph.D, Ph.D programmes on the basis of viva-voce who have qualified a National Test entitling them to a JRF in Schools of Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Computer and Systems Sciences, Computational and Integrative Sciences.

Eligibility: Only those candidates who fulfil the minimum eligibility requirements as prescribed for admission of candidates to M.Phil, Ph.D and Pre-Ph.D programmes through entrance examination under category-A above in above Science Schools and have qualified a National Test entitling them to a JRF are eligible to apply.

Category-C

Part Time Programme

The University will hold entrance examination (in Delhi centre only) for admission to Certificate of Proficiency and Advanced Diploma in Mass Media in Urdu a one-year Part-Time Programmes of Study in the School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies.

Since these are part-time programmes, these are intended for candidates resid­ing in Delhi NCR only.

Admission to Diploma of Proficiency and Advanced Diploma of Proficiency will be made on basis of the past academic record of the candidate which will be assessed in accordance with the criteria laid down by the university for selection.

Diploma of Proficiency: Atleast Senior School Certificate (10+2) or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto with a minimum of 45% marks in aggre­gate and Certificate of Proficiency in the Language concerned or an examination recog­nised as equivalent thereto.

Advanced Diploma of Proficiency: Atleast Senior School Certificate (10+2) or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate and Diploma of Proficiency in the language con­cerned or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto.

Advanced Diploma in Mass Media in Urdu: A Bachelor’s degree under 10+2+3 pattern of education with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate with Urdu as one of the subjects at High School or Intermediate or B.A. Level.

Foreign Nationals: All foreign nationals present in India are required to appear in the entrance examination subject to their fulfilling minimum eligibility requirements as prescribed for Indian students as indicated under Category-A above.

However, in the event of their selection, they will be considered for admission subject to equivalence of their degrees as per eligibility requirements.

Reservation: 27% seats are reserved for OBC candidates (non creamy layer), 15% and 7.5% of seats are reserved for SC,ST candidates respectively in all programmes of study, 3% seats are reserved for Physically Challenged (Handicapped) candidates (with a minimum of 40% disability)

All SC, ST, Physically Challenged (Handicapped) candidates who have passed and,or are appearing in the qualifying examination are eligible to appear in the entrance examination irrespective of their percentage of marks.

Besides, all candidates who have passed qualifying examination prescribed for admis­sion to the concerned programme of study from the identified backward districts, will be eligible for deprivation points.

All Kashmiri migrants and wards, widows of certain cate­gories of Defence Personnel will be eligible for deprivation points subject to their sub­mitting a documentary evidence of their status

All female candidates are also eligible for deprivation points.

Only those candidates will be eligible for deprivation points as stated above who seek admis­sion through entrance examination.

Eligibility

A candidate must possess MBBS degree for MD,MS and BDS degree for MDS courses of a University recognized by the Medical Council of India, Dental Council of India and must have completed the required period of 12 months compulsory rotating Internship, Practical training on or before 30th January, 2016 [As per DCI endorsement No.DE-130-2011,B-4978, dated 13.12.2011, candidature will be as per DCI Revised BDS Course (4th Amendment) Regulation-2011 published in Gazettee notification (Extraordinary) Part-III, Section-4, dated 9.12.2011]. Candidates who complete their internship after 30th January, 2016 are not eligible for Registration in this examination.

The candidate must have obtained a minimum of the following marks in aggregate in all the MBBS, BDS professional examinations

(i) For candidates belonging to the SC, ST Categories 50% marks in aggregate

(ii) For all other categories including OBC Category 55% marks in aggregate

Centres for Competitive Entrance Examination

The Examination will be conducted at cities listed below* in online mode only [Computer Based Test (CBT)]
· Applicants should indicate his, her choice of city of examination at the time filling the application form. The city chosen is subject to confirmation of payment of the examination fee.
· The city of examination shall be allotted on first-come first-serve basis subject to availability of nodes in respective city.
· The centre of examination once chosen and allotted will not be changed and any request in this regard will not be entertained. Applicants should therefore indicate the choice of city with utmost care.
· Applicants are advised to register themselves, make payment and submit their application form at the earliest without waiting for the last date, to avoid not getting the city, centre of their choice.

Method of Selection 

Selection will be made entirely on the basis of merit in the entrance examination and the choice of subject will be allocated on the basis of personal counseling.

The entrance test for MD, MS will consist of one paper of 180 Minutes duration containing 200 multiple choice questions covering all the subjects taught at M.B.B.S. level.

The entrance test for MDS, will consist of one paper of 90 minutes duration containing 90 multiple choice questions covering all the subjects taught at BDS level.

There is 1, 3 negative marking for every wrong answer in the test.

Emoluments 

The Junior Residents, Demonstrators (three years tenure period) will be paid a sum of Rs. 15600 plus Rs 5400 Grade Pay plus NPAand other allowances as admissible under the rules in the first year of the residency

Eligibility: The candidate must possess a MBBS degree and should have completed the required period of one year compulsory Internship. He, she must have obtained at least 55% marks in aggregate in all the MBBS

Duration of Course

A minimum period of 6 academic years is the duration for those registering after MBBS degree and completion of one year’s compulsory internship; the candidates selected for this course will spend first six months in the super specialties opted for

At the end of six months there will be a departmental exam to assess the suitability of the candidate to pursue training in the super specialty

On successfully qualifying in this assessment, the candidate would proceed to the next phase and this period would be included as a part of the full course; in case a candidate fails to qualify in the assessment or decides to discontinue the course, he, she would be given a certificate of six months Junior Residency
A candidate shall become eligible to appear for final examination at the end of five years
He,she can also appear for the final exam at the end of 5 ½ or 6 years as well

However in any case, the period of registration will remain six academic years which is mandatory

The method of selection and other terms & conditions for these candidates will be the same as for MD, MS courses (duration: 3 years)

Eligibility Criteria

For Master’s Level Programmes

For admission to the Master Level Programs in SAU, a minimum of 15 years of education under 10+2+3 (i.e., 12 years schooling and 3 years Bachelor’s degree) pattern is essential. Applicants who have completed 4 years of Bachelor’s degree after 10+2 (12 years of schooling) are also eligible, though the Master-level program will be of 2 years duration for them

Candidates who have obtained Bachelor’s degree in less than 15 years (e.g., under 10+2+2 pattern) will not be eligible for admission to SAU’s Master Level Programs. However, students who have completed two years Bachelor degree and thereafter have completed one year of MA, M.Sc can apply

For admission to the LLM Program in SAU, a minimum of 17 years of education (12 years of schooling + 5 years Integrated BA, LLB degree with prescribed percentage of 50% marks) is the minimum prescribed eligibility

Candidates who have completed 12 years of schooling + 3 year Bachelor’s degree + 3 years LLB degree or 12 years’ schooling and 4 years’ LLB degree with prescribed percentage of 50% marks are also eligible

For admission to MA (Development Economics) and MA (International Relations) Programs of study, the minimum prescribed eligibility percentage in Bachelor’s degree is 50%

Eligibility for M.Sc Biotechnology Program: Bachelor’s degree under 10+2+3 pattern of education in Physical, Biological, Agricultural, Veterinary and Fishery Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering, Technology, 4-years B.Sc (Physician Assistant Course); or Medicine (MBBS) or BDS with at least 55% marks

Only those candidates who have passed the qualifying examinations in 2014 or thereafter including those who are appearing in 2016 are eligible to apply

Eligibility of Candidates who are due to Appear in the Qualifying Exam: The candidates who are due to appear in the respective qualifying examination prescribed as eligibility for admission shall also be considered for appearing in the entrance exam. Such of the candidates will be allowed to appear in the entrance examination at their own risk and on the clear stipulation that in the event of their selection, they will be entitled to admission only if they secure the minimum prescribed percentage of marks in their qualifying degree exam

Scholarships

Students selected for admission to M.Sc Biotechnology Program of the participating Universities will be eligible to receive scholarship at the rate of Rs. 3000/- p.m.

For students joining M.Sc Biotechnology Program at the School of Biotechnology of JNU would be awarded to all the students during first semester

Reservation, Concession for M.Sc (Biotechnology) Programs

  1. a) Reservation:15%, 7½% and 3% of seats shall be reserved for SC, ST & PwD candidates respectively; all the SC, ST & PwD candidates who have passed the qualifying exam are eligible to apply irrespective of their percentage of marks in the qualifying exam
  2. b) Concession for Kashmiri Migrants:10% marks will be added to the overall marks scored by a Kashmiri Migrant candidate in the entrance exam. After adding 10% marks, in case he, she is covered in the cut-off point in the merit list, he, she will be offered admission strictly in accordance with his, her inter-se-merit along with other candidates subject to his, her meeting the minimum prescribed eligibility requirements

Entrance Exam:

The question paper for the Entrance Exam will be of three hours duration and divided into two parts:

Part-A will have multiple choice type questions at the level of 10+2 in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. The Candidates will be required to attempt 60 questions. Total marks for Part A will be (60 questions x 1 mark each) of 60 marks. There will be negative marking and for each wrong answer, ½ (half) mark will be deducted

Part-B will also have multiple-choice questions of Bachelor’s level requiring thinking and analysis. There will be questions from Physics, Mathematics, Biology (e.g., Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics and Molecular Biology) and Chemistry. The candidates will be required to attempt 60 questions

Total marks for Part B will be 60 questions x 3 marks each = 180 marks. There will be negative marking and for each wrong answer one mark will be deducted

Selection Procedure:

The selection will depend strictly on the basis of inter-se merit of the candidate in the entrance exam visa-vis preferences for joining the universities indicated by the candidate. In case a candidate has not indicated his,her choice for joining a particular University, his,her name will not be considered for that University

The candidates will be asked to exercise their options for joining the universities in the proforma (which will be sent by JNU)

Admit Card:

The candidates may download their Admit Card from the University’s website around 10th May 2016 and take the Admit Card to the Exam Centre with a copy of latest passport size photograph

  2. Aspiring candidates should note that, the tests are not disclosed to anybody else other than the candidates only during the examination. The test papers are also not shared with anybody even after the exam
  3. The CET comprises multiple-choice objective type questions in the areas of Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude and Logical, Abstract Reasoning. In all, there would be 200 questions to be answered in a total time of two and half hours (i.e. One hundred and fifty minutes)
  4. It is mandatory for all aspiring candidates to Register & Confirm the Online Application Form for MAH-MBA, MMS-CET 2016 at website
  5. Application form processing fees as stated below is to be paid at any Axis Bank Branches in cash through e-Challan as per schedule during the working hours of the respective Branches. The candidates can also do online payment of the fees by Internet Payment, Credit Card, Debit Card payment gateway for which the service charges, as per rules, shall be applicable in addition to the application form processing fees. No other mode of payment shall be permitted.
